This issue of The Chronicles of a Boho Bride is fully dedicated to Vanessa and Paul, who tied the knot this May on the sandy shores of New Jersey. And before I get to the couple’s story and their incredible wedding, I just want to share the story of me & Vanessa & Paul. I received an email from Vanessa late last year, who fell in love with my watercolor invitations- asking me if I could create a set of mint and pink beach wedding invitations for her upcoming wedding. Hmmm…yes, please! Based on Vanessa’s dream vision, we created a mint ombre brushstroke invitation and paired it with handpainted pink peony rsvp card and a handpainted marbled envelope liner, which featured both mint and pink colors. Because we hit it off so well, we became friends on Facebook, Vanessa asked me to create other wedding stationery for her- and soon I was just as excited as a guest would be! Vanessa and Paul were generous enough to share their wedding pictures & story with me….and now I can’t wait to share it with you!
To be perfectly honest, I am a huge fan of “how we met” stories. So I had absolutely no shame in asking Vanessa and Paul to share their story with me. Luckily, they were kind enough to share their love story with me and I, of course, LOVE it. Just like many other young people of the Jersey Shoe, neither Vanessa nor Paul had the expectation of meeting the love of their life at a bar during the party fest of the Memorial Day Weekend. While both just came out to relax with friends and have some fun, lady LOVE had a whole different plan. From a few laughs grew friendship and over the course of a few months, it became obvious that they were just meant to be. Their beach wedding on the shores on New Jersey was an homage to the place where it all started- with just a brief hello, which years later, turned into “I do.”
Vanessa and Paul’s wedding theme was “boho beach” with soft pastel colors, big fluffy peonies and beach glass as decor elements. One of the main stars of the whole theme was ombre, which was featured on all the stationery, wedding cake, and even Vanessa’s beautiful wedding dress (oh, that dress is heavenly)! One of my favorite details in this wedding was the couple’s puppy, of course, which looked so fetching with the “I do, too” bandana. LOL

I had so much fun creating Vanessa and Paul’s wedding stationery! Vanessa’s vision was “boho beach”, something romantic and laid back and she loved the idea of a watercolor ombre and blush pink peony details. I wanted to create something that would say “beach” without being overly nautical. I think what turned this suite from “pretty” to “wow” was the handpainted marbled envelope liner. I am actually quite obsessed with envelope liners. To me, a gorgeous liner is the cherry on top, the extra dose of luxury! And of course, when the bride and groom are happy with their wedding stationery, that’s just the ultimate nod to my work.
