Painterly, artistic & boho inspiration

Daydreaming in the meadows of South Korea…with handpainted watercolor wedding invitations, pretty flowers and lovely surroundings. This styled shoot is a total blast from the past! In fact, it is the very first shoot that I have ever collaborated on!  I shared it last June on my then-blog, but since I have redesigned my website and launched The Chronicles of a Boho Bride, I realized that need to include it in one of my “issues”. -In case you are new to the Chronicles of a Boho Bride- it’s just a fancy version of a blog. I was tired of the usual boring blog posts you might expect, so I wanted to give it a bit of style and personality (in the spirit of Bohemian Mint)-

I love this shoot for so many reasons: the beautiful South Korean nature, meadows, simple wildflowers, and a touch of watercolors. Not to mention gorgeous photographs by the talented Roxy of CGS Creative.

Since our concept was to stick to botanical colors, I decided to keep the stationery simple and focus on using whimsical handwritten fonts and add just a few touches of handpainted watercolor flowers. I also designed a custom wedding planner for this shoot, which I also kept very simple. I painted three watercolor paintings (of a cake, weddings dress, and shoes) that were used as props. Boy, did I have fun painting these!

While I was busy designing and creating, Roxy found two fabulous creatives to join our little venture: Rachel McGovin Porter, who is a talented international make-up artist (I love the natural, dewy look she created!) and the beautiful Jessica GW Han, who was our model. They were both such a great addition to our (international) team! All I can say is: thank you, ladies, for making this happen! And thank you, dear readers, for making our efforts worth-while!

Soft watercolors, whimsical fonts, and pastel colors was the base of this suite. The watercolor wedding invitations had a painterly and artsy feel to them. The design was quite minimal, which to be honest, it’s quite unusual for me (In general, I am a “more is more” kind of gal). But at this time, the artistic restraint really worked there, as the minimal suite worked really well with the surroundings!
