Rose gold wedding invitations with a New York wedding map!

I was fortunate enough to create watercolor wedding invitations and related wedding stationery for many weddings last year, one of which was this blush, rose gold, and burgundy invitation suite and wedding programs as well as handpainted menu cards. The theme of Nicole’s wedding was romantic, creative and magical- with sparkly rose gold elements in between romantic blush pinks and elegant burgundy. Her wedding invitation was so fun- it had so many little details that I just loved to create- from a mini wedding map of New York City, to a double sided gold foil floral wedding invitation, all the way to the handpainted envelope liner. I love how the wedding invitation matched everything so perfectly, down the Yorkie wedding outfit!

I am loving those burgundy and roses gold bridesmaid dresses. Classy, fun, and super flattering. Nicole chose to match them with her blush pink wedding gown- I love when brides decide to go the non-traditional route and wear something other than white!

There were SO MANY gorgeous elements to choose from so here are some of my favorites: Chocolate naked wedding cake (because naked cakes rule), my handpainted food illustration menu cards (because nothing gets wedding guests more excited about eating the food when they see it first) and the adorable Yorkie pup (because who doesn’t love dogs).

Now, onto the part that is ALWAYS the most fun to me: email! Just kidding, I hate email. Painting, of course. There are not many joys in my daily life quite equal to the one when I sit down with my Arches Watercolor Paper, my set of watercolor paints and brushes and start exploring magic on paper. For the invitation suite, I wanted to highlight the watercolor wedding map, which included the couple’s wedding location, their apartment, hotels for the guests as well as some iconic New York City landmarks.

I love when I come up with a creative idea and my clients goes: “Yes, please.” Because that allows me to really be creative and create something 100% unique. I was lucky that Nicole & André had an open mind about things, and when I suggested having menu card with mini illustrations on them, Nicole got really excited about the idea. I ended up creating 2 sets of menu cards: a cocktail menu card and an entree menu card. Because I don’t have a limit to mini food paintings, obviously.
